Detail on IBO Reference: 618

This organ is located in the diocese or region of Roman Catholic Diocese of Edinburgh. The original builder was Forster and Andrews 1880 and the last known carer was unknown. The organ's tone is mellow and unforced, yet probably powerful enough to lead congregational praise of differing traditions. In the opinion of the writer, the organ is a beautiful instrument of considerable value both from a musical and historical perspective. Despite a lack of tuning and maintenance for almost twenty years, almost all the organ is working. Only occasionally do notes stick down, briefly. The original action, though by now quite noisy, shows no sign of defect. All the notes are working, as are the couplers and pedal action. .The organ was first listed by the IBO on 2019-06-17.
